Mining Housing, Rockhampton
Astra, through its wholly owned subsidiary Astra Capricorn Investments Pty Ltd (ACI), has a number of property projects underway in the emerging commodities boom region of Rockhampton in Queensland, Australia.
Rockhampton is ideally positioned to take advantage of the ‘fly in, fly out’ mining and mining services workforce of one of Australia’s largest mining hubs – the Bowen Basin. ACI plan to capitalise on this demand for housing by focusing on developments in locations that provide easy access to both the Bowen Basin and Gladstone.
The Project/s
O’Shanesy Place: 4,115 square metre site with current approval for 17 townhouses Village on Johnson: 7,208 square metre site with current approval for 28 townhouses
Queensland State Government modelling anticipates that the Rockhampton Regional Council will require approximately 17,200 new dwellings to be constructed between 2011 through to 2031 to cater for the net migration to this region. This population growth will positively support Astra’s investment in the Capricorn Costal Region of Rockhampton.
